The Rapid Response Team (RRT) from Kibungo Level Two Teaching Hospital, along with staff members from Health Centers in the hospital’s catchment area, recently participated in a training on Marburg Virus Disease (MVD) surveillance. The training was organized by the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
The four-day training, which concluded on Friday, November 8, 2024, was designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively identify, investigate, and follow up on contacts of confirmed MVD cases.
