The department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at KRH, addresses the needs of women from their teen years through pregnancy to menopause and beyond, with qualified specialists, specially trained nurses and the latest equipment to deal with obstetric emergencies, high risk pregnancies and premature babies.

The Department of Obstetrics and gynecology is the department with the highest volume of admitted patients at Kibungo referral Hospital. It has 18 registered midwives, 9 registered nurses, 5 general practitioners, and 3 obstetricians and gynecologists among which one serves also as the director general of the hospital,with 450-550 deliveries per month.
The department has 92 beds, a theater room for cesarean sections and gynecological surgeries, and one ultrasound machine for inpatients and outpatients.
Our multidisciplinary healthcare professionals team is dedicated to meeting the unique and changing medical needs of women, helping them to maintain and improve their health status through annual checkups, screening programs, general obstetrical care and specialty care, while advancing and teaching the knowledge and skills of obstetrics to and students in clinical rotation.
